Dr. Guido Rossi
I earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Milan, Italy in 2014 and Master's degree in history at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2017. Currently, I am a PhD Candidate (history) at the Ohio State University University with projected defense date of July 2023, and my research interest is at the intersectionality between military history, American history, and history of race, ethnicity, and national identity. My dissertation titled "Italian Yanks: Italian-American Service Members between Integration and Discrimination, 1941-1945"focuses on Italian-American service members in World War II and how military service influenced their assimilation into American mainstream society and the construction of modern-day Italian-American identity. As a historian and researcher, I have extensive expertise in conducting archival research at both local and larger archival centers, in the United States and abroad.
